Mill Steel Co. Expands its Steel Structural Products Footprint with New Facility in Houston, Texas

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., June 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Mill Steel Co., one of the nation's largest distributors of flat-rolled carbon steel, opened a new facility in Houston, Texas with plans to expand its Steel Structural Products (SSP) cold-formed steel framing manufacturing operations.

Mill Steel's new 100,000 square-foot facility houses three production lines with the capability of slitting 50,000 lb. master coils up to 60" wide and .015-.250" thick. The company is currently installing roll forming lines to allow for full stud and accessory line manufacturing.

In addition to its Jeffersonville, IN and Birmingham, AL locations, this strategic expansion in Steel Structural Products' footprint is the next step to becoming a nationwide distributor. It supports SSP's growing construction and residential framing business in the Southern United States. Furthermore, the geographic advantages and proximity to the Port of Houston will enhance SSP's distribution reach.
