Military Friendly Franchises List Released
List provides veterans a way to sort through the marketing barrage from franchisee recruiters.
PITTSBURGH, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- A week before Memorial Day, G.I. Jobs announces the release of its 2010 list of Military Friendly Franchises. The list honors the top 7 percent of franchises which are offering the most incentive to recruit America's veterans as franchisees.
"The list was created out of demand from military veterans who kept asking us for a way to sort through the barrage of marketing from franchisee recruiters," said Dan Fazio, Managing Editor for G.I. Jobs magazine. "Veterans sought a trusted friend to help them decide which franchise to open. The Military Friendly Franchises list is that trusted friend."
The list satisfies veterans' need to know which franchise they should pursue; which ones give them the best financial incentives, training, and which ones have the highest number of veteran franchisees.
Franchises on the list range from restaurants to tax services. The common bond is their shared priority of recruiting owner-operators with military experience.
"Franchises have long coveted veterans as franchisees, but the current pursuit is white hot," said Chris Hale, President of the National Veteran Owned Business Association (NaVOBA). "Military veterans can execute a plan, lead young employees and are trained to overcome adversity. Combine this with a work ethic on overdrive and financial security amongst the 125,000 troops who retire every year, and you have greatly increased the odds of the franchise succeeding."
The list was compiled through exhaustive research starting last year during which G.I. Jobs polled thousands of franchises nationwide. Methodology, criteria and weighting for the list were developed with the assistance of a Franchise Advisory Board consisting of Mail Boxes Etc. founder Jim Amos and Spring-Green President James Young. Both men are military veterans.
The full list of Military Friendly Franchises will be published in the 2010 Franchising Guide for Military Veterans, May issue of both G.I. Jobs and Vetrepreneur magazines, and on www.militaryfranchising.com, a web tool which helps veterans decide which franchise to choose.
G.I. Jobs (www.gijobs.com) is published by Victory Media, a veteran-owned business. The company also publishes 2010 Franchising Guide for Military Veterans and The Guide to Military Friendly Schools.
