Milicruit's Virtual Career Fair Links Military-Friendly Employers with Job Seekers
Thousands of Active Duty Military Personnel, Veterans and Military Spouses Benefit
CHICAGO, June 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Milicruit, powered by UBM Studios, successfully brought together industry leading employers, government agencies, and military personnel seeking employment in a fully interactive, online environment at the Veterans Virtual Career Fair, Thursday, June 23, 2011. Over 35,000 active duty military personnel, veterans and their spouses registered for the Virtual Career Fair and employers met with over 21,000 visitors in their virtual booths. On average, attendees visited 21 booths with an average dwell time of 143 minutes.
The Virtual Career Fair, open to all active duty personnel, veterans and military spouses, showcased military-friendly employers who are committed to helping veterans and military spouses find suitable employment. Eighty corporations and public and private sector organizations, representing more than 15,000 jobs, participated in offering positions nationwide. The virtual career fair gave job seekers the opportunity to meet with potential employers in real time, walk the exhibit floor, visit employer booths, view and/or apply for jobs, chat with recruiters, build a network of peers - all from the privacy of their own homes, and with no travel expense, or carbon output.
The Veterans Career Fair is supported by MOAA, Veterans Affairs – VetSuccess, Wounded Warrior Project, Disabled American Veterans, ESGR, USO, IAVA, Hire Heroes USA, Walter Reed Medical Center and the Student Veterans of America.
The Milicruit perpetual environment allows military personnel, veterans and military spouses' access to the virtual career fair all year long - 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The only requirement to attend the virtual career fair is a computer with high speed internet access.
