FISHKILL, N.Y., Jan. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- MedAllies' Universal Direct Network is now live with 3,561 health care organizations, reaching 52,056 individual providers as of January 16. EHRs in its network comprise more than half of the national certified EHR install base, solidifying MedAllies' place as a leading national Direct network.
Among the health systems using MedAllies Direct HISP are the following:
- Capella Healthcare, Inc., based in Tennessee
- Franciscan Alliance, Inc., based in Indiana
- North Shore-LIJ Health System, based in New York
- RegionalCare Hospital Partners, Inc., based in Tennessee
"Scale matters," explains MedAllies CEO A. John Blair, III, MD. "If you make it easy for one provider to send critical, pertinent patient information to another, you have improved the system. Now multiply that by more than 52,000 users. MedAllies connects with the most providers using 2014 certified EHR technology, giving us an even larger platform from which to transform health care and support meaningful use of technology across communities to enable improved care, better health and lower costs."
MedAllies supports connections to Allscripts, Epic, Meditech, Siemens, Qvera/GE Centricity and many other EHR and PHR vendors. "We want to thank these vendors for their many years of work with us focusing on true EHR interoperability, and their recognition of the importance of workflow for provider adoption and usage," Blair says.
MedAllies also supports security: Its triple accreditation by EHNAC-DirectTrust signals to the industry its operation at a very high standard of privacy, security and trust-in-identity. That trust translates into cheaper, better and faster Direct exchange across a national network of accredited HISPs.
In addition to running a leading Direct network, MedAllies--a founding member of the federal Direct Project--offers a suite of services: MedAllies Direct Solutions™ provides a secure, scalable, standards-based way for participants to send authenticated, encrypted personal health information to other providers, whether they are across the street or across the country. This approach supports Stage 2 Meaningful Use and the patient-centered medical neighborhood.
