The Step Up for Down Syndrome annual walk promotes the rights, dignity and potential of all individuals with Down syndrome. All funds raised stay in Colorado and are used for essential programs including First Call Parent Visitation, Parents and Schools in Partnership Program, Community Groups, Healthcare Partnership, advocacy, education and public awareness. |

This flagship event will help raise funds and awareness for MHDSA. MHDSA serves people living in Colorado with Down syndrome, as they strive to live independent and empowered lives. MHDSA provides Colorado families and caregivers with information, tools and resources to support children and family members with Down syndrome. |

Down syndrome is a genetic condition, when a baby is born with three, rather than the usual two, copies of chromosome 21. Down syndrome is the most frequently occurring chromosomal abnormality, occurring once in every 691 live births. It is estimated that over 400,000 people in the U.S. have Down syndrome. |
