PRINCETON, N.J., Oct. 9, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Mikros Systems Corporation (OTCQB: MKRS), a technology company specializing in electronic systems for advanced maintenance in military, industrial and commercial applications, announced today that it was awarded a substantial follow-on Delivery Order under its ADEPT Distance Support Sensor Suite (ADSSS) IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity) contract with the U.S. Navy. The order has a $15 million ceiling and covers the installation of condition-based maintenance systems for the Littoral Combat Ship.
"We are very pleased to report that we have received a follow-on Delivery Order as Design Agent for the Navy's AN/SYM-3 system," said Lori Ogles, Mikros Senior Program Manager. "This new delivery order will ensure that we continue to serve our important Navy customer over the short term, continue to enhance the design and effectiveness of the system, and prove its value to other Navy platforms."
The AN/SYM-3 system brings condition based maintenance, or CBM+, to working systems used by the Navy. It provides remote status monitoring, secure networking, and data analytics for the key components of the ship's Combat System, including sensors and weapons systems. The AN/SYM-3 system provides near real-time feedback on system performance and analyzes data that helps to establish trends and anticipate failures. The new Delivery Order covers new target systems and installations on multiple future ships. Mikros is also working to extend the technology to other platforms and Navy legacy equipment.
Mikros CEO Tom Meaney added, "There are many other Navy systems and ships where Condition-Based Maintenance capabilities are planned. We are working diligently to develop new applications for the AN/SYM-3, which provides a cyber-secure environment for remote monitoring and data analytics to help keep the ship and its systems ready to fight."
