Miko Tempski Returns To SAF As General Counsel
BELLEVUE, Wash., July 1, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Attorney Miko Tempski, who previously served as Legal Affairs director for the Second Amendment Foundation, has returned after nearly two years as an assistant attorney general for the State of Washington to become SAF general counsel.
SAF Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb made the announcement Monday, as Tempski returned to the foundation's headquarters at Liberty Park in Bellevue. Tempski returns to SAF where he will join Mr. Gottlieb as part of the foundation's core leadership team and will take over primary responsibility for managing SAF's litigation.
A Seattle resident, Tempski is a former police officer. During his previous stay at SAF, he participated in various legal actions pursued by the foundation. He was with the foundation from 2010 to 2011 before taking the job with the Attorney General's office in the fall of 2011.
"We are delighted to have Miko back here in the SAF offices," Gottlieb said. "We consider him to be a very valuable member of the team, and we're certain his talent and expertise will be critical in the months and years ahead as we continue our mission of winning back firearms freedom one lawsuit at a time."
"I had a great experience with the attorney general's office, and was proud to represent the citizens of the State of Washington," Tempski added. "However, when the opportunity came to rejoin my colleagues at the Second Amendment Foundation, which has been on the cutting edge of a relatively new area of law, I couldn't turn it down."
Tempski earned his B.A. degree in Political Science at the University of Washington, and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, in Washington, D.C. He also serves on the board of directors for the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
"I'm especially excited to work with fellow Georgetown Law alumnus Alan Gura, who successfully argued the landmark Heller and McDonald cases before the U.S. Supreme Court," Tempski said.
