Premo joined ARC's executive team in 2006 as vice president of business development. In this position, he was responsible for sales, marketing, public relations, and the company's data and analytics business line, which set new revenue records during his tenure. Premo also directed an overhaul of ARC's corporate image, which included the development of a new website and corporate logo.
Before joining ARC, Premo served as president of integrated services at Navigant International, a business travel management company with corporate, government, and leisure clients, and senior vice president of global networks at TQ3Navigant, Navigant's international joint venture created with TQ3 Travel Solutions. In those roles, Premo was responsible for the development and operation of the company's licensee network across 60 countries and led client operations for a number of strategic corporate Fortune 500 accounts.
Premo also served as president and CEO at SatoTravel, overseeing its transformation from a network of airline ticket offices to a competitive travel management company. Prior to working at SatoTravel, he held the position of vice president and general manager at Gelco Travel Services, managing Northeast U.S. operations. Premo began his travel industry career at Northwest Airlines as a front-line reservations agent, eventually rising to the position of reservations operations director.
"We're very excited about Mike taking the reins at ARC, and we know that he will build upon the company's solid foundation to continue providing the travel community with exceptional services and innovative offerings," said David Landuyt, ARC's chairman of the board. "Mike's leadership skills have been instrumental in helping ARC transform its corporate culture and business strategy to meet ever-changing market demands. With his track record, we have full confidence in his ability to ensure ARC's success and sustainability for the future."
In 2005, the Association of Corporate Travel Executives named Premo a "Distinguished Fellow." He was also named to the Business Travel News "Top 25 Most Influential Travel Industry Executives" list in 1995 and 2009. He is a past board member of the USO of Metropolitan Washington.
Premo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. John's University (Collegeville, Minn.) He and his wife reside in Northern Virginia as empty nesters after raising four children.
