Mike McTighe Named Special Advisor to General Atlantic in Europe
GREENWICH, Conn., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- General Atlantic LLC ("GA"), a leading global growth equity firm, today announced that Mike McTighe, Chairman of Pace, Volex Group and WYG Group, has been named a Special Advisor to the firm. In this role, Mr. McTighe will provide strategic counsel to GA and its portfolio companies with a focus on the European region, supporting the firm's active value-added approach to partnering with growth companies.
Founded in 1980, GA has been an active investor in Europe for over two decades, with a strong history of identifying, investing in and supporting European growth companies including Markit, amedes Group, GlobalCollect, Saxo Bank and Xchanging. With a target investment size of 31 million pounds Sterling ($50 million) and 310 million pounds Sterling ($500 million), GA manages approximately 9.4 billion pounds Sterling ($15 billion) and invests between 0.6 billion pounds Sterling ($1.0 billion) and 1.5 billion pounds Sterling ($2.5 billion) per year in growth opportunities globally.

Mr. McTighe previously served as Chairman and CEO of Carrier1 International SA, and before that as Executive Director and Chief Executive, Global Operations of Cable & Wireless.
