Mike Cirilli joins L&R Distributors Inc.

BROOKLYN, N.Y., Jan. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- L&R Distributors Inc. announces the hiring of Mike Cirilli as Vice-President of Category Management & Procurement.

Mike Cirilli, is joining L&R Distributors Inc., a national distributor of over 30,000 HBC, GM, and cosmetics products, serving over 12,000 points of distribution in the supermarket, drug, independent and mass trade classes across the United States. A native New Yorker, Cirilli is pleased to return to his roots, working in NYC. Cirilli says he was attracted to L&R because of its entrepreneurial mindset and its embracing of the new technologies.

Cirilli comes to L&R from Rite Aid, where he managed its Wellness and Private Brands for the last thirteen months, and introduced many improvements in the Wellness Visual presentation for Rite Aid Drug stores. He has 30 years expertise in retail category management and merchandising, including experience as VP of merchandising with Duane Reade, where he worked for 16 years, and as a Senior Director of supply chain for Krasdale Foods.

Cirilli replaces Charlie DeTorres, who has relocated to North Carolina. Charlie will be transitioning into a sales role, calling on retailers as well as creating strategic sales opportunities for L&R. Utilizing his vast knowledge of General Merchandise Manufacturers, DeTorres will create direct partnerships between L&R customers and Manufacturers.
