Midtown West Luxury Residential Building Screens "Wild Canaries"

NEW YORK, May 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Tonight, Gotham West, the newest residential building from Gotham Organization, Inc., kicks off its annual Summer Film Series with a screening of "Wild Canaries," a film by director Lawrence Michael Levine.

The film was screened at this year's SXSW Film Festival and will be shown on Gotham West's Sky Terrace, a 32^nd floor rooftop space with stunning views of the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood and the Manhattan skyline.

In "Wild Canaries," characters Barri (Sophia Takal) and Noah (writer-director Lawrence Michael Levine), a newly engaged Brooklyn couple, are disheartened by the death of their downstairs neighbor, Sylvia. Though Noah sees nothing unusual about the old woman's death, Barri suspects foul play and sets out to investigate, enlisting her roommate Jean (Alia Shawkat) to join her on a reconnaissance mission to trail a possible suspect. Tensions mount, however, when the investigation uncovers unsettling secrets throughout the building, including in their own apartment, and suddenly everyone seems like a reasonable suspect. Boasting a stellar supporting cast including Jason Ritter (Parenthood), Kevin Corrigan (The Departed) and Annie Parisse (The Following), Wild Canaries is a freshly comedic take on classic film noir.

Following the film, director Lawrence Michael Levine and actor Kevin Corrigan will host a discussion, opening up the conversation with a Q&A session for residents of the building.  Levine is a New York-based actor and producer best known for "V/H/S/2" (2013) and "Gabi on the Roof in July" (2014).  Corrigan has starred in countless independent films and is best known for his role in "The Departed."
