MIDLAND, Mich., Aug. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Set yourself on a course to explore and celebrate global and creative diversity! Midland Center for the Arts is excited to kick off a new concert series bringing first-rate performing artists from near and far to share their unique art forms and cultural stories. From contemporary dance and hip hop, to Celtic and world music of all kinds, these performances will be full of energy and life!
The "Windows on the World" Series kicks off with a free outdoor concert in downtown Midland on August 26 at 7 p.m. when Chicago's Funkadesi takes the stage. A joyful blend of Indian music, reggae, funk and Afro-Caribbean grooves creates the one-world sound and positive vibe that makes Funkadesi a unique and compelling musical force.
"WOW events aren't limited to when the performers are on stage," said MCFTA President and CEO Terri Trotter. "Also included will be pre- and post-show activities such as gatherings with the artists that are engaging, laid back and fun! Plus, downtown Midland is getting into the act with special activities for each WoW offering."
"And, best of all, the WoW Series is a great value, with tickets starting as low as $15 for most events. Or, see real savings by purchasing the entire series for just $50. Why not give something new a try? We guarantee you an artistic adventure that will make you say, WOW!"
The Windows on the World Series is supported by a grant from the Midland Area Community Foundation, and the remainder of its 2016-2017 lineup is: Rock & roll meets bluegrass when The HillBenders from Arkansas presents an original work: Tommy – A Bluegrass Opry on September 22 at 7:30 p.m. (tickets $25 and $15).
