Mid-Westchester Elks to Start a Social Group for Teens With Disabilities
CHICAGO, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With some help from the Elks National Foundation, the charitable arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Mid-Westchester Elks will host and plan social events for teens and young adults with disabilities. They learned of the need for such a program through their volunteer work with Cerebral Palsy of Westchester.
The Social Group for Teens with Disabilities will be funded by an Impact Grant awarded to the Mid-Westchester Elks by the Elks National Foundation. Impact Grants are the newest addition to the Elks National Foundation's Community Investments Program. They are competitive grants designed to help Elks make a difference in their community. This year, Mid-Westchester Elks Lodge No. 535 is one of 49 recipients nationwide to receive an Impact Grant. The grants range from $2,500 to $10,000.
