MiCTA Seeks Proposals For Multiple 911-Related Products and Services
SAGINAW, Mich., Dec. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MiCTA, a national non-profit technology consortium, and Northern Michigan University have issued three separate Requests For Proposals from qualified vendors of Enhanced 911 (E911), Next Generation 911, (NG911) and multi-line telephone system (MLTS) vendors. Vendors that wish to receive a copy of one or more of the RFPs should contact MiCTA immediately. The deadline to respond is Friday, February 1, 2013.
"Many of our members have a need for a multitude of 911-related services," according to Tim von Hoff, Chief Operating Officer of MiCTA. "A growing number of state and local regulations regarding the provision of enhanced 911 services are driving this demand, especially as they are applied to multi-line telephone services and residential buildings on campus. Our municipal members are also seeking out ways to respond to incoming emergency assistance calls from a variety of mobile communications devices."
"Our members turn to us for assistance with managing technology demands," says von Hoff. "We have been monitoring the interest in emerging 911 regulations that affect our membership. We have been working with our members to help them understand complex liability issues and comply with changes in both technology and the law."
According to von Hoff, MiCTA can negotiate better pricing from vendors than members would be eligible for individually. Von Hoff also says that by issuing E911, NG 911 and MLTS RFPs on behalf of its membership, MiCTA can save its members the work and expense involved in issuing their own individual RFPs. Interested vendors should visit the MiCTA website at http://www.mictatech.org for more information.
