VIENNA, Va., June 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- MicroTech President & CEO Tony Jimenez was recognized by the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce as "Executive of the Year," on June 29 at the Annual Chairman's Luncheon & Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards. Nearly 600 members of the business community, along with local elected officials and other dignitaries were in attendance for the event. The Executive Leader of the Year Award is presented to a Northern Virginia executive who is recognized for making outstanding contributions to his company and the community.
The fastest growing solutions provider in the United States, MicroTech offers Technology Services, Systems Integration, Cloud Computing, Product Solutions, Unified Communications & Collaboration, and Innovation & Integration to the public sector and Fortune 500 companies, providing technical services to more than half-a-million users daily. With more than 400 employees living or working in 28 states, and expanded regional operations in Alabama, Oklahoma, North Carolina, New Mexico and Virginia, MicroTech continues to improve its competitive position nationally, as well as globally.
"I'm honored to be recognized for such an important community and business leadership role," said Jimenez. "From the launch of MicroTech, our corporate goal has been more than just about making a profit; it's about making a difference in our community, bettering the lives of our employees and their families, and supporting those who need a hand up. MicroTech has given back to the community through unsurpassed volunteer efforts, fund drives and charity donations, and living up to a high ethical character code."
The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce promotes the quality of life of county-based businesses and citizens. The Corporate Citizenship Award winners reflect that commitment. "…Award recipients and honorees have exhibited the highest levels of leadership and corporate social responsibility," said President & CEO Jim Corcoran. "Their work and dedication furthers our business community and the entire Northern Virginia region. We are proud to honor these very deserving recipients for their good work."
Jimenez has been repeatedly recognized for his philanthropy, community involvement, and commitment to diversity. SmartCEO Magazine named him to the 2011 Circle of Excellence as the Top Corporate Philanthropist in the Washington area. The Hispanic Committee of Virginia honored him with the 2010 Hermes Award as a community leader. And the Mid-Atlantic Hispanic Chamber of Commerce named him a local "Business Legend" late last year.
Each of the Corporate Citizenship Awards honors business leadership and community service.
