MicroStrategy to Relocate Headquarters Office to New Signature Building in Washington, DC Metro Area
Leasing Approximately 166,000 Square Feet to Support Expanding Employee Base
MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- MicroStrategy® Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence (BI) software, today announced that it will relocate its headquarters on October 11, 2010. MicroStrategy is leasing more than 166,000 square feet of space at 1850 Towers Crescent Plaza in Vienna, Virginia, approximately 10 miles from downtown Washington, DC.
MicroStrategy has more than 750 local employees that will work in the new building. As a result of MicroStrategy's aggressive recruiting program, the company has added hundreds of employees worldwide this year and has hundreds of openings that it plans to fill over the next 12 months. MicroStrategy employees have been actively involved in the development of the new office space by participating in focus groups and surveys on amenities, furniture choices, and the telephone system. Located along the I-495 Capital Beltway, the new building will be within easy walking distance to the Dulles Corridor Metro Line, which is currently under construction.
The new MicroStrategy headquarters building will enable the company to expand its customer education programs with a 5,800 square foot Training Center, including five state-of-the-art classrooms. The top floor, which offers panoramic views of the Washington DC area, will offer a Customer Welcome Center with numerous executive conference rooms. In addition, a Mobile Showcase area will feature demonstrations of MicroStrategy's latest technology advancements in mobile intelligence for the iPad, iPhone, and BlackBerry.
MicroStrategy revenues were $410.7 million for the 12 months ended June 30, 2010, and the company has direct operations in more than 20 countries. Thousands of companies use MicroStrategy software to report on and analyze their data to make more informed business decisions. MicroStrategy customers include Barclays, eBay, GUESS?, Lowe's Companies, MetLife, Netflix, Starbucks, Ryder, and Whole Foods Market.
