MicroStrategy Announces Finalists of First Annual Customer Dashboard Competition
Information Dashboards Provide At-a-Glance Insights for Improved Decision Making
MCLEAN, Va., March 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MicroStrategy® Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence (BI) software, today announced that it has featured the finalists of its customer dashboard competition on its website at http://www.microstrategy.com/dashboards/#customershowcase.
Earlier this year, MicroStrategy held a dashboard competition to encourage its customers to share their most creative and useful dashboard designs. More than 60 dashboards, all built using MicroStrategy software, were submitted and evaluated on a broad range of criteria, including visual design, ease-of-use, and business value. Some of the companies that were selected as finalists in the dashboard competition include the following:
eBay
With more than 90 million active users globally, eBay is the world's largest online marketplace. eBay's Site Speed Dashboard is used by Senior Executives, Program Managers, and Site Analytics teams on a daily basis to identify and address website speed issues. Users compare the performance of load times and website interactions for eBay websites and different web browsers against the 7-day rolling average. The dashboard displays alerts based on anomalies in site or browser performance and provides notification of issues related to overall daily performance. Prior to this dashboard, eBay personnel had to review multiple spreadsheets on multiple workbooks to analyze this critical information.
U.S. Postal Service
More than 70,000 United States Postal Service (USPS) managers have access to the Outstanding Receivables Dashboard to manage outstanding employee receivables. The dashboard, accessible from an intranet, helps operating managers monitor and take action on employee receivables, such as payroll issues, travel advance overpayments, and cash register shortages. The dashboard development took less than two days and within the first three months of implementing the dashboard, USPS realized a $2 million reduction in outstanding receivables. Previously, USPS used a static document that was published monthly and e-mailed by area accounting managers.
Guess?, Inc.
Guess?, Inc. is a widely recognized apparel company with over 1,200 GUESS and GUESS Accessory retail stores worldwide. The GUESS "Best Seller" Dashboard provides daily details on the top 10 best selling items by units sold and sales for each country, division, and product category. Designers, buyers, executives, and personnel in marketing, finance, and operations use the dashboard to monitor sales; analyze trends related to product styles, colors, and patterns; and project future needs. Replacing a static report, the dashboard allows users to drill into the data for deeper analysis and enables the company to share information more quickly and easily.
Herbalife
Herbalife is a leading manufacturer of nutrition, weight-management, and personal care products. Herbalife's Executive Dashboard shows current and trend performance data for top sales team members. The dashboard provides easy access to key performance indicators for Herbalife's sales force and enables the company to align the sales organization's goals with corporate goals. Herbalife users, located in 70 countries, rely on the dashboard to track and monitor sales performance. The dashboard replaced a 1,000 page monthly report and has eliminated weeks of manual work.
AmerisourceBergen
AmerisourceBergen is one of the world's largest pharmaceutical services companies. The AmerisourceBergen Pharmacy Performance Dashboard is available to more than 5,000 retail pharmacies to help them benchmark their pharmacy against comparable stores and better understand store performance. The dashboard also provides insight into customer demographic information to help pharmacy owners make strategic decisions concerning their business strategy.
Alloso Technologies
Alloso Technologies is a software and consulting company providing hoteliers and the hospitality industry with solutions to help them manage and improve the performance of their portfolios. The Alloso Executive Dashboard enables executives and hotel managers to check daily performance of their properties with a high-level and detailed analysis of key operating metrics. Users can monitor operations at the individual property, regional, and portfolio levels. Prior to the dashboard, Alloso's customers received this information from the field in the form of daily calls and e-mail updates, which were not easily consolidated.
"Our customers continue to get more and more innovative in the development and design of their MicroStrategy-based dashboards," said Sanju Bansal, MicroStrategy's COO. "The dashboard competition demonstrated that our customers are realizing tremendous value from their dashboards, which provide a compelling and efficient way to understand business performance and make analytically-based decisions."
