HERNDON, Va., Dec. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Kris Collo, CEO, President and Founder of MicroPact Inc., the global leader in Data-First™ Case Management and Business Process Management (BPM) software, was among 33 distinguished recipients of the 2014 Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas.
The Presidential Awards program conducts an international search to find outstanding Filipinos and other individuals or organizations that contribute to Philippine development initiatives or promote the interests of overseas Filipino communities, has four categories.
Collo received the Pamana ng Pilipino Award, which is conferred on Filipinos who exemplify the talent and industry of the Filipino and have brought the country honor and recognition through excellence and distinction in the pursuit of their work or profession. Collo was born in The Philippines and moved to the United States as a child with his parents.
The honorees were recognized in a formal ceremony hosted by President Benigno Aquino at the Malacanang Palace in Manila on Dec. 5.

Collo was nominated and selected because of his "exceptional abilities and achievements in the field of innovative technology, making him one of the top young executives and leader in the development of enterprise case management and business process management software solution."

The Presidential Awards program, which was established in 1991, is a biennial search for overseas-based individuals and organizations that have dedicated their work in the service and improvement of lives of Filipinos worldwide, selflessly supported relief, rehabilitation and development programs in the home country, or who have excelled in their field or profession.
The awardees were thoroughly screened from a total of 157 nominations from 29 countries by three different committees with representatives from the government, civil society, media, academe, religious and business sectors, and finally the President of the Philippines.
