Michigan's "Stars of Supplier Diversity" Honored at the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council's 29th Annual Awards
DETROIT, Oct. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council (MMSDC) recently hosted their 29th Annual Awards celebration in honor of the corporations, minority owned businesses and individuals who lead in the category of supplier diversity. Over 700 business leaders attended the event, held at the Detroit Institute of Arts, to celebrate their achievements in producing over $16 billion in contracts between corporations and minority businesses.

Over the course of the evening, the MMSDC awarded twenty-one individuals and businesses with top honors that spanned across 19 different categories pertaining to supplier diversity. The awardees represent thousands of jobs created in Michigan and a broader general investment in local communities across the state.

The event was co-hosted by local news anchors Rhonda Walker (WDIV-TV), Roop Raj (Fox 2 News), and Glenda Lewis, (WXYZ-TV), and featured an invocation by Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr.
