Michigan Homeowners Can Save Big With New Consumers Energy Home Energy Analysis Program
JACKSON, Mich., April 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers Energy is helping customers save money and improve energy efficiency with its new Home Energy Analysis Program. The analysis provides homeowners with a review of their home's essential heating and cooling systems, as well as current energy usage.
As part of the home energy checkup, customers also receive free installation of energy-saving upgrades worth an average of $50. These upgrades can help customers save money and reduce energy bills by delivering up to $150 in first-year savings.
Upgrades include energy efficient equipment such as compact fluorescent light bulbs, kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators, energy efficient showerheads, water heater pipe wrap and LED nightlights. Participating homeowners receive a custom report with recommendations for improving energy efficiency and can save even more with rebates from Consumers Energy.
The Home Energy Analysis is available in many Michigan communities served by Consumers Energy, including Lansing, Jackson, Flint, the Great Lakes Bay Region (Saginaw, Bay City and Midland), Kalamazoo and metro Detroit, for a nominal fee of $25. The Home Energy Analysis is made possible by Michigan's energy reform law which enables utilities to provide comprehensive energy efficiency programs to customers. The programs are creating hundreds of jobs statewide for energy efficiency contractors and sub-contractors.
"When you see a Consumers Energy energy-efficiency vehicle in your community, you'll know that a neighbor is learning how to reduce energy use and starting to save money right away," said Larry Earegood, energy efficiency program manager. Customers can set up an appointment for a Home Energy Analysis by using the online scheduler at https://www.consumershomeanalysis.com or calling (888) 316-8014. Use the code "CEAPR" and the $25 fee will be waived.
