Michigan First Credit Union to Celebrate Grand Opening April 8 of Technology-Focused In-store Branch at Meijer in Lincoln Park, Mich. With Opportunity to Win Detroit Tigers' Opening Day Tickets for April 9
Virtually paperless, self-service branch opens to serve metro Detroiters where they already shop, with extended hours that fit their schedules
LATHRUP VILLAGE, Mich., April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Michigan First Credit Union (www.MichiganFirst.com) is proud to announce the grand opening of its second in-store branch within the Meijer store in Lincoln Park. The new branch offers the ultimate in one-stop banking and shopping. The official ribbon cutting ceremony will be April 8 at 9:30 a.m. at 3710 Dix Highway, Lincoln Park, Mich. (MAP)
To celebrate the grand opening and welcome new members, Michigan First will be giving away a family four-pack of tickets to the April 9 Detroit Tigers' opening day home game. New members who open a checking or savings account and deposit at least $100 before 7:00 p.m. on April 8 at the new branch will be entered to win the tickets. The drawing will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Meijer branch.
Continuing the celebration, Michigan First will be sending one lucky shopper on a five minute, all-you-can-grab grocery shopping spree. On May 3, the winner will be selected in person among 20 shoppers who, after registering during the April 8 – 24 grand opening period, were randomly selected to win $25 Meijer gift cards. Michigan First will be matching the dollar amount of groceries obtained during the spree and donating the funds to Lincoln Park Goodfellows.
The virtually paperless Meijer branch will boast a number of convenient, technologically advanced features that have been a hallmark for Michigan First and its members. The branch will have computer kiosks available 24 hours a day, seven days a week where members can perform nearly any banking transaction, from opening new accounts to making loan payments.
The branch will also include Michigan First's MoneyWorks™ Banking Centers, which are advanced ATMs that allow users to deposit cash and checks without envelopes; cash checks to the penny; and choose the denomination of money being withdrawn (singles, fives, twenties, etc.).
For additional convenience 24/7, Michigan First also provides a high-speed coin counting machine at no cost to members. This machine automatically counts and deposits up to 3,000 coins per minute.
"Our goal is to make banking as convenient as possible, while still providing the same level of member service we have at all our branches," said Michael Poulos, president and CEO of Michigan First Credit Union. "The new Lincoln Park branch allows members to essentially conduct all of their banking through our high-tech MoneyWorks Banking Centers at their convenience."
Financial services representatives will be available within the branch between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. "Our Meijer branches not only provide a physical Michigan First location for new members in new communities, but also serve as an alternative branch for our existing members, providing increased convenience for our on-the-go members."
This is the second Michigan First in-store Meijer branch. In September 2009, the credit union opened a location at 34835 Utica Road, Fraser, Mich.
