GREENVILLE, S.C., Oct. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Michelin North America has raised approximately $823,000 in its 28th annual charity golf tournament, which was held this week on Oct. 1‒2 across six Greenville-area courses.
The tournament featured teams from 160 Michelin business partners and suppliers, or approximately 580 players in all. Michelin hosts the tournament each year for the benefit of local charities that support communities in which Michelin has plants or facilities.
"Each year, this tournament creates opportunities to do good for worthy causes in our communities while also strengthening business relationships," said Steve Jahries, vice president of purchasing for Michelin North America. "On behalf of Michelin and the charities that benefit from the tournament proceeds, I'd like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for their support."
"It's a privilege to support the individual missions of these organizations," said Leesa Owens, director of state, local government and community relations for Michelin North America. "Based on the generous giving from Michelin's network of suppliers, we are eager to see the powerful impact these groups will have in their communities in the year ahead, and in the lives they touch for a long time to come."
