Whitham's currently owns and operates Whitham Law, LLC. She brings to her practice over 26 years of field experience, as well as expertise in litigation, cyber privacy and security, information technology, labor and enforcement law and employment discrimination and harassment, to her role.
Prior to launching her new venture in 2016, Ms. Whitham was a Partner at Foley Hoag LLP for 26 years.
Foley Hoag is a highly regarded and repeatedly recognized, full service AmLaw 200 law firm, and Whitham held many roles during her time there. In addition to managing her legal practice, she served as a member of the firm's Executive Committee for eight years, and as the firm's Co-Managing Partner for seven years.
Additionally, Ms. Whitham co-founded and co-chaired the firm's Security and Privacy Practice Group and was throughout her career a member of its Labor and Employment Group. After that, she also briefly served as a Partner in the Boston Office of Locke Lord LLP before starting her own firm.
Outside of her work through her firm, Whitham also advises global businesses in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia/Pacific in regard to strategic human resource issues.

When not working, Whitham has seved as a Director on many boards and is currently a member of the Boards of Directors of the world-renowned Joselin Diabetes Center, Wentworth Institute of Technology and the Partnership, Inc., the latter devoted to the professional advancement of diverse executives. She is also an Emeritus Director of Heading Home, dedicated to ending homelessness in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
A graduate of Cornell University, Whitham earned her Juris Doctor (Order of The Coif), her Master of Science degree in Human Development, her M.A.T. in Education and her Bachelor's degree (Cum Laude) from the University. Before engaging in the practice of law, Whitham was a member from 1976-1988 of the faculty of Cornell University's Center for Field and International Study, which position she left to practice law.
