Michael Strahan to Join Centerplate as Special Advisor
NFL Great Will Contribute To Business Development
STAMFORD, Conn., Feb. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Centerplate, the largest event hospitality partner to North America's premier sports stadiums, convention centers and entertainment venues, today announced football great, broadcaster and philanthropist Michael Strahan has joined Centerplate as a Special Advisor. In the newly created position, Strahan will lend his rare combination of in-depth sports knowledge, business prowess and media expertise to Centerplate's fast growing business. Strahan will serve as a strategic advisor in Centerplate's new business efforts, and act as a band ambassador to the sporting and business worlds, while also contributing to staff motivation and community outreach efforts.

Strahan, who recently joined Kelly Ripa on the nationally syndicated show Live! with Kelly and Michael, is known for his warm personality and quick wit while serving as a high-profile television analyst for the NFL. During his 15-year NFL career, all with the New York Giants, he played in 216 games and recorded 141.5 sacks. Strahan lead the New York Giants to a dramatic Super Bowl victory over the previously undefeated New England Patriots in 2007. In 2001, Strahan completed what is widely considered to be one of the greatest seasons ever for a defensive player, breaking the 18-year-old NFL single season sack record with 22.
