Michael R. Regan Named Deputy Inspector General

HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Inspector General Kenya Mann Faulkner today announced the selection of Michael R. Regan, a former United States Marshal for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, as Deputy Inspector General.

Regan, of Dillsburg, will oversee the OIG's operational and administrative areas, including the Bureau of Special Investigations, the Bureau of Fraud Prevention and Prosecution, the Bureau of Administrative Services, and the Bureau of Information Systems. He also will coordinate the OIG's fraud-fighting efforts with federal, state, and local law enforcement entities, and also serve as the primary advisor to Inspector General Faulkner.

Regan's past experience includes serving as a Deputy United States Marshal. His other accomplishments include being founder and commander of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District; manager of four U.S. Marshals district offices; directing the protection of federal judges, witnesses, and dignitaries; coordinating federal, state, and local law enforcement entities in the apprehension of fugitives; serving as coordinator for The National Crime Information Center and coordinating the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.  

Regan graduated magna cum laude from Albright College with a B.S. in Crime and Justice.

Faulkner today also announced the Office of Inspector General's new mission statement, which reads: "To ensure integrity, accountability and public confidence in Pennsylvania government by preventing, investigating and eliminating fraud, waste, abuse and misconduct."
