Michael Eric Dyson to Speak at Walden University Academic Residency

MINNEAPOLIS, March 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, an esteemed scholar and one of the nation's most inspiring and influential public intellectuals, will be the plenary speaker at Walden University's academic residency on Saturday, March 26, at the Hilton Atlanta.

Dr. Dyson is an author, scholar and cultural critic whose voice bridges generations and gives light to national conversations about such issues as race, religion, gender, hip-hop and sexual politics. Once a welfare father, factory worker and church pastor, he is now an American Book Award recipient and two-time NAACP Image Award winner. Dr. Dyson has also been named one of the 100 most powerful African Americans by Ebony magazine.
