Dr. Dyson is an author, scholar and cultural critic whose voice bridges generations and gives light to national conversations about such issues as race, religion, gender, hip-hop and sexual politics. Once a welfare father, factory worker and church pastor, he is now an American Book Award recipient and two-time NAACP Image Award winner. Dr. Dyson has also been named one of the 100 most powerful African Americans by Ebony magazine.
