Michael C. Davidson, CLU®, Elected Chairman of The American College Board of Trustees

BRYN MAWR, Pa., July 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American College announced today the election of Michael C. Davidson, CLU^®, as Chairman of the institution's Board of Trustees.  Davidson is the Vice Chairman and Chief Agency and Marketing Officer at State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company^®.

As Chairman, Davidson will preside at all the meetings of The American College's Board of Trustees.  The Board has oversight responsibility for affairs of The College, including the institution's management and the formulation and determination of institutional policies.  

Davidson began his career with State Farm in 1978 as an agent in Richmond, Missouri.  He has since held a variety of positions in both agency and corporate areas.  

In 2003, he returned to the corporate headquarters in Bloomington, Illinois as Senior Vice President and a member of the Chairman's Council.  

Since 2005, Davidson has been the Vice Chairman and Chief Agency and Marketing Officer with State Farm.  In this capacity he also serves as an Executive Vice President within the State Farm Fire and Casualty Company and as an Executive Vice President and Chief Agency and Marketing Officer at State Farm's Life Insurance Company, Life and Accident Assurance Company, and Annuity and Life Insurance Company.

In addition to being a member of The American College's Board of Trustees and The College's Executive Committee, Davidson is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and the Illinois Life Insurance Council.

Davidson received his bachelor's degree from the University of Central Missouri and in 1993 earned his Chartered Life Underwriter^® (CLU^®) designation from The American College.  The CLU^® is widely acknowledged as the highest standard of knowledge and trust for insurance professionals.
