Michael Barrett, PayPal Chief Information Security Officer, Joins National Cyber Security Alliance Board
WASHINGTON, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) today announced that Michael Barrett, Chief Information Security Officer at PayPal, has joined the organization's board of directors.
NCSA is a nonprofit, public-private partnership focused on cybersecurity awareness and education to help a digital citizenry stay safe and secure in an increasingly connected world. It works across government, private, nonprofit and academic organizations toward that mission.
PayPal, the world's leading global online payment company with 87 million active customers, is the third company this year to join NCSA's growing board. PayPal will work alongside board officers from AT&T, ADP, Cisco, EMC, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, Google, Lockheed Martin, McAfee, Microsoft, SAIC and Symantec.

As Chief Information Security Officer, Barrett brings superior experience in security and financial services to the NCSA board. At PayPal, he is responsible for ensuring that the personal and financial information of millions of PayPal customers and 8,000 employees around the world is protected. Prior to joining PayPal's security team in 2006, Barrett served as vice president of security and utility strategy at American Express.
