Michael Barr to Keynote EE Live 2014
CTO and Co-founder of Barr Group discusses "embedded software's greatest hit jobs"
GAITHERSBURG, Md., March 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Barr Group, a global leader in the safety and security of embedded systems, announced today that Co-founder and Chief Technical Officer, Michael Barr will be giving the keynote address at UBM Tech's upcoming EE Live! 2014 Conference and Expo, March 31 – April 3.

Entitled "KILLER APPS: Embedded Software's Greatest Hit Jobs," Barr's keynote presentation will explore how the development and implementation of company and industry standards and guidelines can prevent safety-critical system failures that too often have catastrophic consequences. Barr has been an expert witness in several key lawsuits pertaining to the unintended acceleration of Toyota vehicles. Mr. Barr's expertise expands to all issues of embedded software safety and security.

Barr is a former adjunct professor of electrical and computer engineering with over two decades of software design and implementation experience. He is also the author of three books and more than seventy articles and papers on embedded systems. Prior to founding Barr Group, Barr served as editor-in-chief of Embedded Systems Programming magazine. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and has lectured in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland, from which he also earned an MBA.
