PHILADELPHIA, March 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockton's Philadelphia office continues its fast-paced growth with the addition of Michael Appaneal as Vice President to provide risk management solutions to its expanding client base. Lockton is the world's largest privately held, independent insurance broker.

Insurance industry veteran Michael Appaneal joins Lockton in Philadelphia.

Appaneal has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry providing benefits and risk management services for clients while leading high-performing sales teams. During the past 17 years he worked for Standard Insurance, most recently serving as Regional Sales Vice President, after beginning his career at Unum Life Insurance Company.

He received his B.A. cum laude in government & legal studies and Spanish from Bowdoin College and his M.S. in human resource management from Boston University.
