Micfo Opens Six New Data Centers, Expanding Global Footprint to 55 Data Center Locations
Micfo continues its robust expansion in 2018 through the opening of key locations in Canada, Hawaii, and mainland U.S.
CHARLESTON, S.C., July 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) provider Micfo today announced the opening of six new data center locations to better service its U.S.-based and international customers. Paired with the recent acquisition of OppoBox, this expansion further bolsters the company's footprint by ten data center markets, bringing its global footprint to a total of 55 data centers across five continents.
"With new innovation and rise of emerging technologies such as IoT and AI, a new set of challenges came to light requiring advanced and purposely-built infrastructure," says Amir Golestan, CEO, and founder of Micfo. "The opening of six new data centers and our acquisition of OppoBox enables us to continue on delivering low latency, geographically distributed solutions which are hyperlocal and would offer real-time data processing at the edge."
Charleston-based Micfo has been an industry-leading cloud provider for twenty years and currently operates one of the most extensive networks of globally-dispersed cloud platforms for fog and edge applications. The six new data centers in key locations in Canada, Hawaii, and mainland U.S. will better serve its international customers.
The company's new data center location in Canada —its second in the country— now reaches customers in Montréal and Toronto. Its new Hawaii location was strategically chosen to bridge Australia and Japan individually to the U.S. mainland and improve latency and connectivity in the two countries. Micfo's other data centers in Omaha, Kansas City and Little Rock enables the company to better service underserved and sparse markets in the U.S.
The sixth data center was chosen explicitly with Micfo's financial services and technology customers in mind. Micfo's second location in New York City now services telecommunications building, 60 Hudson, and the AT&T Building at 32 Avenue of Americas.
