Miami Fuel Discount on Thursday: 85 Cents Off for 85 Minutes
Cafes do Brasil Indy 300 runs on Sugarcane Ethanol
MIAMI, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Miami motorists are invited to fill up for less on Thursday (September 30) at MidFlagler U-Gas, located at 4690 West Flagler Street, Miami. From 12:30 p.m. to 1:55 p.m., an 85 cents per gallon* discount is being offered on E85 and regular gas, thanks to a promotion by the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association (UNICA) to increase U.S. awareness of sugarcane ethanol as an environmentally friendly fuel. UNICA provides 100% fuel-grade ethanol for the IZOD IndyCar Series.
"UNICA is excited to be in Miami to celebrate IndyCar's final race of the season and its use of sugarcane ethanol, an environmentally-friendly fuel that could save drivers money at the pump," said Leticia Phillips, UNICA spokesperson. "We're proud to partner with IndyCar to raise awareness about the benefits of ethanol and encourage drivers to try it."
In addition to the 85 cents per gallon discount, drivers can also enter to win fuel cards, see an IndyCar up close and meet Firestone Indy Lights drivers Martin Plowman and Dan Clarke. The first 50 participants will also receive two tickets to the Cafes do Brasil Indy 300 on Saturday, October 2.
"Flex-Fuel Vehicles now make up 90% of new car sales in Brazil. Drivers have the option of using ethanol or gasoline, based on the pricing that particular day. Over the last 30 years, Brazil has replaced half of its gasoline needs with sugarcane ethanol," said Phillips.
The discount event is made possible by UNICA's partnership with Apex-Brasil – the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency. Apex-Brasil is the Official Energy and Trade Partner of the IZOD IndyCar Series as well as the Firestone Indy Lights.
*Limit: 15 gallons per vehicle
