M/I Homes of Charlotte To Build New Community in Huntersville

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C., June 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- A new M/I Homes of Charlotte community is coming to Huntersville.

M/I Homes has purchased the land for Bellington, a community of 99 home sites to be built on Huntersville-Concord Road. The location is east of I-77 at Exit 23. The community is close to downtown Huntersville and Discovery Place KIDS museum. Construction on the new homes will start in late 2013. Prices have not been finalized but are expected to start in the mid $200s.

The 41-acre community will feature M/I's traditional and cottage collection of plans, ranging from 2,019 to 3,500 square feet. Buyers can choose from ranch or two-story homes with three to six bedrooms and two to three-and-a-half baths. Homes will include a two-car garage; for certain sites and plans, a three-car garage will be available. Look for exteriors of HardiePlank siding with stone and brick accents, front porches and covered lanais.

Schools serving the new community include Blythe Elementary, Alexander Middle and North Mecklenburg High School.

"The community streets will be lined with trees," says Tamara Lynch, M/I Homes of Charlotte vice president of sales and marketing. "Many of the home sites back up to green areas. There will be plenty of common open space for homebuyers to enjoy."

Bellington will have two model homes on display. Highlights of one model home plan, The Bradford, include 4 bedrooms, 2 ½ baths and a 3-car garage. It features 9-foot ceilings and numerous windows, a first-floor study, large bay window and sitting area in the master bedroom, and two separate heating and cooling systems to keep the temperature on each floor comfortable. A popular amenity upstairs is the large optional bonus room, typically used as a children's playroom or extra bedroom for guests.
