MHz Choice to release the French drama of the year 'Chefs' on January 1, 2019
WASHINGTON, Dec. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Named the French TV drama of the year at the 2015 Luchon Film Festival, Chefs follows the behind-the-scenes drama between members of a kitchen staff at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris. If you think Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen is intense, take a look at this group of obsessives! Chefs dives deeply into the energy, tragedy and artistry within the closed world of a high-pressure restaurant kitchen. The series also struck a chord with French TV audiences and set ratings records in its initial release.
Season 1 (6 x :60) of Chefs tells the story of Romain, a young ex-con whose probation assignment puts him in the kitchen of Le Paris, a famous high-end restaurant. Romain is played by Hugo Becker (Gossip Girl). The Chef, played by Clovis Cornillac (A Very Long Engagement, Asterix at the Olympic Games), recognizes Romain's natural affinity for cooking and takes him under his wing. So begins Romain's awakening: to the art of food, to love, and ultimately, to finding his place in the world.
MHz Choice viewers will recognize Robin Renucci and Nicolas Gob from A French Village. Robin plays Edouard, a wealthy man with a dark and mysterious past, who's nothing like Daniel Larcher, his character in A French Village. Nicolas, who played Jean in A French Village, plays Yann, the chef's second-in-command, who educates Romain on the strict and sometimes brutal hierarchy within a French kitchen.
