MeTV Welcomes 'The Summer Of Me,' Barry Williams Of 'The Brady Bunch' To Host Summer-Long Network Event
Special Summer Line-Up Of Colorful, Comedic Classics Begins Monday, May 29!
No Politics. No Reality. No Kidding.
It's Days and Nights of Blissful Summer Fun, with Comfortable, Feel-Good Memorable Entertainment On America's #1 All Classic Television Network
CHICAGO, May 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MeTV kicks off its 2017 The Summer of Me on Monday, May 29, with Barry Williams of the beloved family TV comedy The Brady Bunch joining as host. The network will feature a special block of classic comedies weekday afternoons and weeknights all summer long. To ensure that its summer schedule is both classic and fresh as an ocean breeze, MeTV has added a number of shows to new time periods, including the out-of-this-world comedy ALF, which joins the network line-up for the very first time.
As host, Barry Williams will appear on MeTV in interstitials and promotional announcements throughout the summer. In addition, Barry will select his favorite and most memorable episodes to air as part of a weeklong special event in July, "The Brady Bunch – Barry's Best." Beginning Monday, July 10 through Friday, July 14, from 5:00 to 5:30pm ET/PT, Barry will share touching and entertaining anecdotes from inside The Brady Bunch as he presents his personal favorites from the 117 episodes spanning five seasons of the iconic series. Extended commentary will be featured on MeTV.com.

Barry starred as Greg, the charismatic older brother and teen heartthrob who led the Brady clan through some of its most hilarious adventures (and occasionally had to rescue his younger siblings from their immature antics). The Brady Bunch premiered in 1969 and ran for five groovy seasons. The show became even more successful in syndication than in its original primetime run, with generation after generation discovering it and making it their own. Reunion and sequel films continued for more than 30 years, into the twenty-first century. In 2017, its cast of characters remains part of the American cultural zeitgeist, still loved by audiences, still a shared frame of reference, and even parodied in a Snickers candy bar commercial (by no less than Steve Buscemi and Danny Trejo). Like great classic pop music, The Brady Bunch is guaranteed to generate happiness and is an ideal anchor for a summer of memorable entertainment on MeTV.
"I am very happy to be hosting The Summer of Me on MeTV", said Barry Williams, actor, performer and host for this special event. "I have been a fan and a viewer of their classic TV shows for quite awhile. This summer is going to include a totally groovy line-up of programs, only on MeTV."
"Barry Williams is such a warm and energetic person -- and is known for his great sense of humor. He perfectly captures the sensibility at the center of MeTV's The Summer of Me. It's summertime; people are looking forward to long days, warm nights, and just getting a break from all of the stress in the world and on TV. We welcome Barry as the host of our annual summer event, where the whole family can relax, laugh, and have fun together," said Neal Sabin, Vice Chairman of Weigel Broadcasting Co.
But wait…there's more…The Summer of Me isn't only about being Brady. MeTV's The Summer of Me features six hours of special summer programming each day, Monday through Friday, from 4:00 to 10:00 pm ET/PT, including ALF, everyone's favorite alien wise guy from the planet Melmac. ALF is entirely new to MeTV and will air weeknights at 9:30 pm ET/PT beginning Monday, May 29. In addition, there will be early and rarely seen episodes of My Three Sons, new high-definition prints of The Beverly Hillbillies, a bonus run of The Andy Griffith Show featuring the color episodes, and the MeTV premiere of Battlestar Galactica Saturday's at 7:00pm ET/PT.
