Video provides small businesses with detailed information on the steps to take to become a subcontractor to FTC on the Foothill Extension from Pasadena to Azusa Project
MONROVIA, Calif., March 28, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority today posted the "Small Business Opportunities" video as a follow up to the successful Meet the Primes Networking Event hosted by the Authority and Foothill Transit Constructors (FTC) – A Kiewit Parsons Joint Venture on Friday, March 9, 2012. The successful event drew a few hundred people representing more than 75 small businesses and provided an opportunity to learn about the upcoming opportunities for small businesses to participate as a subcontractor on the Foothill Extension light rail project from Pasadena to Azusa. The video, available through the Construction Authority's website and YouTube channel, provides an overview of the detailed and important information discussed at the event for small businesses that were unable to attend.

About the Foothill Extension from Pasadena to Azusa
The Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension is a $1.4 billion project, partially funded by Los Angeles County's Measure R. The light rail extension is being overseen by the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority and is currently undergoing final design and construction for the Pasadena to Azusa segment and environmental review for the Azusa to Montclair segment. Construction of the 11.5-mile light rail extension to Azusa is on schedule to be completed in 2015, adding six new stations in the cities of Arcadia, Monrovia, Duarte, Irwindale and Azusa. All six stations will have parking. The Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation estimates that during construction, the Pasadena to Azusa segment will generate nearly 7,000 jobs and $1 billion in economic output for the region.
