Metro Atlanta Chamber Honors Global Business Excellence, International Business Leaders at 2013 Global Impact Awards
Awards highlight innovation, job creation, community leadership and sustainable practices
ATLANTA, April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Four of Atlanta's most notable leaders in international business and global operations have been selected by the Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC) as 2013 Global Impact Awards winners. The annual awards event honors international business excellence, innovation and leadership. The four winning companies were among 12 finalists recognized this year.
The Global Impact Award was given to Walter Bastian, Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Hemisphere, U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration. Each year the Global Impact Award recognizes an outstanding leader in international business.
Award finalists and winners were honored at an April 24 luncheon event at the Georgia Aquarium. AirWatch Chairman Alan Dabbiere was the keynote speaker.
The event winners by category are:
Foreign Direct Investment – Infosys, a global leader in business consulting, technology and outsourcing.
Trade – Global Payments, one of the world's largest electronic transaction processing companies.
Service Provider – United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS), a global leader is shipping, freight, logistics and supply chain management.
Innovation – Manufacturing Resources International (MRI), the emerging industry leader in high-performance indoor and outdoor digital displays.
Global Impact – Walter Bastian, Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Hemisphere, U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration. Bastian is recognized as an active supporter and ambassador for Atlanta through projects such as the campaign for Atlanta as the Secretariat of the Free Trade Area of the Americas, the creation of the Americas Competitiveness Forum and, most recently, the growth of CIFAL Atlanta.
