Metro Atlanta Chamber Announces Upcoming Move to 191 Peachtree Tower
Metro Atlanta's Catalyst for a More Prosperous and Vibrant Region Reveals
Relocation Plans for Premier Downtown Office Building
ATLANTA, May 19, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC) today announced plans to relocate from its current home in Centennial Olympic Park to 191 Peachtree Tower in downtown Atlanta in late 2016. MAC will move more than 75 employees into 25,000 square feet of space in the 50-story skyscraper. The new MAC offices will feature modern design, high-tech enabled workspaces and locally sourced materials.
In March 2016, the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) purchased the current MAC building as part of its plan to expand the greenspace and upgrade the user experience of the 21-acre Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta.
"While it's bittersweet to give up our longtime home, we are truly excited about GWCCA's plans to expand and upgrade Centennial Olympic Park," said Hala Moddelmog, president and CEO of MAC. "Just like GWCCA is creating a whole new downtown experience, the Chamber is seizing new opportunities as we embark on the next era in our own organization's history."
JLL, leading global real estate service provider, was engaged at the outset to analyze all potential properties and guide MAC in its relocation process before ultimately deciding on 191 Peachtree Tower. The more than 1.2-million-square-foot tower is located between Andrew Young International Boulevard and Ellis Street and is now 92 percent leased, according to Cousins Properties Incorporated, which owns and manages the building, and is a longtime Atlanta company and MAC member. In addition, Cushman & Wakefield will be project managing the relocation, and Heery has been selected as the interior design firm – both of which are MAC members.
"Many of MAC's members and some of metro Atlanta's most iconic companies will be our new neighbors in 191 Peachtree Tower, which provides additional synergy for the many projects and programs we orchestrate together for the good of the region," said Jenner Wood, 2016 MAC chairman of the board and corporate executive vice president, SunTrust Bank.
"Our move into a premier office tower truly symbolizes that our organization is rising to meet new challenges and embrace new opportunities," said Moddelmog. "The new location in 191 Peachtree Tower allows us to have a bird's eye view over the metro area, from which our team of experts can visualize and celebrate all of the growth and development in which we are proud to play a key role."
Designing the Future Office
According to Moddelmog, the new office will visually communicate the characteristics of MAC's work and the organization's legacy. MAC's new offices will be reflective of the Chamber's vision and values, bringing together locally sourced materials with "distinctly Atlanta" themes in a sophisticated and elegant space that integrates beautiful, functional design with best of breed technology.
The innovative one-level space will incorporate design elements reflective of Atlanta's founding as well as its modern-day status as a hub for transportation and making connections. This theme also underscores the Chamber's role as a connector of organizations and people who come together to better the region. It will be a flexible and adaptable environment which fosters a strong, connected community and encourages creative, team-oriented collaboration and problem-solving.
The new office will also include spaces designed for meetings, functions and Chamber programs, all offering exceptional amenities and breathtaking views of the city. On average, each week MAC hosts approximately 500 members of the Atlanta business community, as well as national and international delegations, in its offices.
Following its move in late 2016, MAC's new address will be 191 Peachtree Street NE, Suite 3400, Atlanta, GA 30303.
