Updated SLAM-R Sets New Bar for Cybersecurity Preparedness
CABOT, Ark., April 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Metova CyberCENTS®, a cutting-edge authority in cybersecurity simulation and training, today announced updates to SLAM-R, the industry's leading Cyber-Attack simulation technology. Metova CyberCENTS SLAM-R® Cyber Range technology provides a digital environment that emulates a real world computer and network workspace, providing a risk-free environment for Cyber professionals to train and exercise offensive and defensive countermeasures and forensics on an off-line network that models their own environment.
SLAM-R version 2.7 contains a number of changes including the ability to import and export scenarios, an implementation of sessions, an update to the Debian OS, an updated attack library, and multiple content updates.
SLAM-R is the brain and heart of the CENTS® system. It is a software application suite that provides the needed synthetic and virtual elements for a fully immersive cyber operations environment. SLAM-R provides the cyber operator with the needed features and effects of a real-world network operations center or a global Internet environment. In addition, SLAM-R has the ability to create and execute complex scenario-based network events.
"SLAM-R provides the fully immersive lifelike simulation that is required by organizations such as the Department of Defense, state, local governments and universities, for true testing and evaluation of cyberattack protocol, resistance and defense," said Bill Dunn, president of Metova CyberCENTS. "The new attack engine and scenario management features in version 2.7 were designed and implemented to provide a more flexible attack scenario and attack generation capability focused on meeting the Blue and Red Cyber Protection Team event/attack generation and detection requirements."
