MetaWatch Manager Update for Android Delivers Facebook and Twitter Notifications
DALLAS, Aug. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Meta Watch Ltd, the smartwatch company, announced the release of an updated version of MetaWatch™ Manager for Android™. This highly anticipated update will include notifications for Facebook®, Twitter®, and Gmail®.
"A watch has traditionally been a symbol of the wearer's social status. MetaWatch now adds social media status," said Bill Geiser, CEO of Meta Watch. "While our wearers have expressed high interest in social media updates, there exists a fine line between notification and distraction. Our approach does a great job managing that delicate balance of keeping users both informed and free to be in the moment."
MetaWatch products are designed to deliver information in a glance. MetaWatch Manager is the phone app that maintains a seamless connection to iOS and Android devices. MetaWatch already allows users to receive SMS messages, see who is calling before pulling their phone out of their pocket, as well as display widgets to monitor weather, stock, and calendar items from their wrist.
New features of MetaWatch Manager for Android include:
- Facebook Widget - A familiar graphic provides updates on Friend Requests, Messages, and Notifications
- Facebook Notifications
- Twitter DM Notifications
- Gmail Notifications
"Increasingly, notifications are what drive our use of smartphones," continues Geiser, "MetaWatch is helping people digest these notifications into actionable and contextual bites of data available at a glance. We've now added the world of social media, enticing the user with enough relevant information to allow them to decide if they want to fully engage on their mobile phone."
The new MetaWatch Manager for Android app is available as a free download in the Google Play store. MetaWatch smartwatches come in two models, STRATA and FRAME and are available at www.metawatch.com.
