Metalogix to Support Content Migration From SharePoint 2010 Beta 2 to SharePoint 2010 RTM
Customers Can Use a Microsoft Supported Solution to Move Valuable Content from Pilot Projects to the Production-Ready Release of SharePoint 2010
WALTHAM, Mass., April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Metalogix Software, the leading provider of solutions for Microsoft® SharePoint® migration, management, and archiving as well as Exchange® migration and archiving, today announced that it will enable customers to migrate sites, lists and libraries that have been stored in the SharePoint 2010 Beta 2 version to Microsoft's release-to-manufacturing (RTM) SharePoint 2010 release.
Many organizations have undertaken pilot projects or proof-of-concept projects based on the pre-release version of SharePoint 2010 that produced useful and functional collaboration environments with valuable content. With the imminent release of Microsoft's RTM build of SharePoint 2010, these same organizations need to move that content from the Beta 2 version to the RTM build of SharePoint 2010 and are looking for a flexible, Microsoft-approved way to accomplish this.
"Metalogix SharePoint Site Migration Manager 2010 addresses this critical need by leveraging supported Microsoft APIs to move content from previous versions of SharePoint -- including SharePoint Server 2010 Beta 2, Microsoft Office Server 2007 and Portal Server 2003 -- to the RTM edition of SharePoint Server 2010," said Rasool Rayani, director and co-founder of Metalogix. "Metalogix gives the SharePoint community a flexible on-ramp to the RTM release."
SharePoint Site Migration Manager 2010 offers gradual/granular migration support with no service pack or hardware prerequisites. It allows content owners to control the migration. With it, SharePoint administrators can define when specific content is migrated as well as re-organize and re-template SharePoint sites and lists easily as they migrate. SharePoint Site Migration Manager 2010 is 100% Microsoft compliant. It interacts with SharePoint only through supported APIs -- with no direct writes to the database -- and supports SharePoint Online.
SharePoint Site Migration Manager 2010 will be available on May 12th. For more information, go to: http://www.metalogix.net/products/ssmm2010/betaupgradefaq.
