Metalogix Survey Shows Widespread SharePoint Adoption and Migration Trends to SharePoint 2010

WALTHAM, Mass., March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Metalogix Software, the leading provider of solutions for Microsoft® SharePoint® migration, management, and archiving as well as Exchange® migration and archiving, today announced the results of its recent survey which shows strong plans for current SharePoint users to migrate to SharePoint 2010.  The bi-annual survey polls IT Professionals about their SharePoint and Exchange usage and plans. According to information provided by more than 430 respondents:

• 79% of current SharePoint users are using SharePoint 2007
• 46% of current SharePoint users are planning a migration to SharePoint 2010
• Exchange Public Folders and Windows NTFS FileShares top the list of source systems respondents plan to migrate into SharePoint
• Of current Exchange and/or SharePoint users planning to move services to the cloud (hosted solution) who currently see a viable solution, 57% favor Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS)
