Message Systems Short-Listed for the 2015 Red Herring Top 100 North America Award
Global leader in email infrastructure recognized as one of the most promising private technology companies of the year
SAN FRANCISCO, May 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Message Systems, the global leader in email infrastructure, today announced that it has been short-listed for Red Herring's Top 100 North America award, a prestigious list honoring the year's most promising private technology companies from the North American business region.
Message Systems' email platform is the preferred choice of the world's best-known cloud businesses, email service providers, telecom companies and large enterprises that depend on email to drive revenue. Collectively, Message Systems' customers, including Pinterest, Zillow, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Groupon, Salesforce, Marketo, Oracle, Time Warner, Comcast, AT&T and American Express, move over 3 trillion messages a year – more than 25 percent of the world's legitimate email.
The company's 2015 general availability launch of its cloud-based email service, SparkPost, enables developers and small-to-midsize organizations to easily integrate email into their web and mobile applications, while SparkPost Elite provides larger email senders guaranteed burst rates, white glove service and the ability to customize the service to suit their specific needs. Other recent highlights include the launches of Momentum 4, the newest version of its all-in-one email infrastructure platform, and the Adaptive Email Network which improves customers' email inbox delivery rates while helping protect their sending reputation.
"We are thrilled to be included on the short-list for the Red Herring Top 100 award. This recognition serves as yet another success we've achieved in 2015 – with the recent acquisition of Port25, the official launch of SparkPost and the addition of Pinterest and Zillow to our growing customer base, this year is shaping up to be our most successful to date," said Phillip Merrick, CEO of Message Systems.
Red Herring has been selecting the most exciting and promising start-ups and "scale ups" since 1995. Finalists are still evaluated individually from a large pool of hundreds of candidates based across North America. Twenty major criteria underlie the scoring and process. They include, among others: the candidate company's addressable market size, its IP and patents, its financing, the proof of concept, trailing revenues and management's expertise. Each company goes through an individual interview after filling out a thorough submission, complemented by a due diligence process. The list of finalists often includes the best performing and prominent companies of that year.
This unique assessment of potential is supplemented by a review of the company's actual track record and standing, which allows Red Herring to see past the "buzz" and make the list a valuable instrument for discovering and advocating the greatest business opportunities in the industry. During the several months leading up to the announcement, hundreds of companies in the fields of security, cloud, software, hardware, big data, life sciences, mobile and others completed their submissions to qualify for the award.
"The short-list confirms the excellent foresight and strong innovations created by entrepreneurs in North America," said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. "By all measures, the remarkable group of companies included in the Top 100 Short-list underlines the region's constant drive to innovate."
The short-listed companies qualify to present their winning technology at the Red Herring North America. The Top 100 winners will be announced during a special awards ceremony the evening of June 3, 2015.
