Merrick Pet Care's Purrfect Bistro Receives Rare "Five-Paw" Review
AMARILLO, Texas, Aug. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Merrick Pet Care's new Purrfect Bistro received a rare "five-out-of-five-paw" review in the first-ever cat food review appearing today in The New York Times Dining section.

The review was penned by acclaimed cat food critic, W. "Mittens" Bloomfield, who described Purrfect Bistro as "scrumdelicious," "awetastic," and "wondermazing." For example, of his experience with Purrfect Bistro's new Chicken a la King and Tuna Pate recipes, Mittens describes a food experience in which "…rich little moments of food ran into one another as if to create a kaleidoscope of tastes and textures, or a polychromatic fantasy that ended in a Taj Mahal made of chicken and tuna."
Chicken a la King and Tuna Pate are just two of the 21 new recipes of high-protein, canned and dry cat foods in Merrick's Purrfect Bistro lineup featuring real deboned meat as the No. 1 ingredient. They come in feline-friendly bistro flavors including chicken, salmon, tuna, duck, turkey and beef, with a minimum of 70 percent protein and fat ingredients in every dry food bag.
Mittens added, "Purrfect Bistro will have you searching the thesaurus for synonyms of 'delicious.' Unless you don't mind repeating that word over and over."
While taste is paramount, texture is a close second. Purrfect Bistro features pate, shredded and sliced varieties. Five grain-free dry recipes are available in 4- and 12-pound bags at the suggested retail prices of $15.99 and $32.99, respectively. Sixteen canned grain-free recipes are available in 3- and 5.5-ounce cans at the suggested retail prices of $1.29 and $1.69, respectively. Merrick Purrfect Bistro is available at independent pet specialty stores, nationally at Petco and at select online retailers.
The new Merrick Purrfect Bistro menu comes less than a year after the successful introduction of its 12 new dry food recipes for dogs. All Merrick recipes have no ingredients from China; no poultry byproducts; no artificial additives or preservatives; no artificial flavors or colors; no corn, wheat or soy; and no glutens.
Cat parents are invited to join the Merrick Real Food Revolution on Facebook or Twitter and learn more about the Cat Critic on Twitter, #TheCatCritic. Meanwhile, W. "Mittens" Bloomfield will be musing about finer foods for felines in his blog at www.thecatcritic.com.
