Meridium Announces New Chief Technology Officer, Advances Commitment to Innovation and Global APM Leadership
ROANOKE, Va., Nov. 8 , 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Meridium® Inc., the global leader in asset performance management (APM) software and services, today announced that former Juniper Networks® and Microsoft® executive Eddie Amos has joined the leadership team at Meridium as Chief Technology Officer.
Amos brings to Meridium his years of experience in software strategy, development, and continuous improvement processes, leading a global team dedicated to innovation and performance. According to Amos, "This position with Meridium brings all my passions together in the perfect way: leveraging the tools from Microsoft that I love, facilitating growth in a software company through product and market vision alignment, and driving superiority in software solutions."
"Eddie is unique in that he wants to understand the customer and market forces at play when developing products in order to create long-term customer value," according to Walid Abu-Hadba, Corporate Vice President, Developer & Platform Evangelism Group at Microsoft. "Eddie will bring to Meridium the capacity to transform complex technologies into real world solutions and help address customers' business objectives to ensure they leverage maximum value out of their technology investments."
Amos began his career in commercial software at Lotus Development Corp®. After Lotus was acquired by IBM®, he moved to the Lotus Product Management team focusing on the development and deployment of applications in Fortune 500 accounts. "I've been blessed with wonderful career opportunities: After Lotus was purchased by IBM, I received a great education in mature global software business practices and insight into enterprise integration and key middleware," said Amos.
Amos left Lotus/IBM to focus on various startups including webMethods®, a pioneer in the use of web services for complex integration scenarios to enable data flows between ERP, CRM and various software systems.
This experience led him to join Microsoft to work with global customers and partners on the technology that later became known as .NET®. At Microsoft, Amos also served in various roles including General Manager of the Global ISV Team and finally as a Partner and General Manager of the Developer Platform and Tools group, where he handled strategy, evangelism, planning and marketing for products like Visual Studio®, Expression®, .NET, and IIS®.
"Eddie will bring passion, impact and character to his work at Meridium," said Sheila Gulati, founder and Managing Director of Tola Capital®, and formerly a General Manager at Microsoft Corporation within the Server and Tools division. "He is the rare breed of technology executive that not only has the technical understanding but is also very customer focused."
Amos joins Meridium from Juniper Networks where he was Vice President of the Juniper Developer Network (JDN). "What led me to Juniper was the idea of extending the developer ecosystem to focus on new network innovations like software-defined networks, big data, management and extensibility to increase the reliability and functionality of networks."
Kevin Bauman, Maintenance Project Manager, The Dow Chemical Company, said, "After hearing Eddie speak on big data and understanding his background, it's clear he will make a strong addition to Meridium's leadership team. I look forward to his contributions and working with him."
