Meriam Ibrahim to be Honored at Values Voter Summit, First Public Appearance Since Arriving in the United States

WASHINGTON, Sept. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Family Research Council announced today that Meriam Ibrahim, the Sudanese Christian who was sentenced to death for apostasy and spent months in a notoriously rank Sudanese prison with her toddler son and newborn daughter, will be honored at the Values Voter Summit gala dinner to be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014. The gala dinner will be held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. and will be Meriam and her family's first public appearance since arriving in the United States on July 31.

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins made the following comments in announcing the plans to honor Meriam Ibrahim:

The ninth annual Values Voter Summit will be held from September 25-27 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. FRC Action's Values Voter Summit is cosponsored by AFA Action, American Values, Liberty Institute, Liberty Counsel, Liberty Counsel Action and Family Research Council. The Values Voter Summit annually draws thousands of social conservatives from across the country.
