Merial Invests in NAVTA Membership Drive
Endowment will help NAVTA reach goal of 200 new members
DULUTH, Ga., Oct. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Merial today announced its $10,000 contribution to the National Association for Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA). The endowment, which specifically supports NAVTA's October membership drive, is an important part of Merial's ongoing partnership with NAVTA.
"As an organization devoted to investing in the careers of veterinary technicians, Merial's decision to make this endowment was a clear one," said Sarah Cloud, marketing director for HEARTGARD® (ivermectin) Brand Products. "We encourage veterinary technicians working in the field to get involved with NAVTA and take advantage of the opportunity to learn from a nationwide network of dedicated and passionate professionals."
The week-long NAVTA membership drive runs from Oct. 12-18, which coincides with National Veterinary Technician week. The membership drive will highlight the educational, networking and collaboration opportunities NAVTA brings to veterinary technicians across the country and encourage non-members to get engaged. The endowment comes shortly after the launch of a continuing education (CE) course, produced by Merial and approved by NAVTA, which focuses on empowering veterinary technicians to talk to pet owners about the importance of year-round heartworm disease prevention.
"We are excited for the opportunity to continue our work with Merial and grateful for this endowment," says Julie Legred, CVT, the executive director of NAVTA. "NAVTA is committed to promoting the importance of the veterinary technician in pet care and, through this partnership, it is clear that Merial is committed to veterinary technicians as well."
