BOSTON, Jan. 3, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- PatientPing, a health technology company that connects providers to seamlessly coordinate patient care, today announced its launch in the state of Iowa through its partnership with the Mercy Health Network (MHN), and its accountable care organization (ACO), Mercy ACO. Building on the regional health system of Mercy Health Network, Mercy ACO is an integrated delivery system with locations throughout Iowa and Northeastern Nebraska. The partnership with PatientPing will enable Mercy Health Network to succeed under its value-based care initiatives, while also focusing on its priority of personalizing patient care.
Through Pings–real-time notifications when patients receive care–and Stories–important patient context at the point of care, Mercy ACO will be able to gain insight into patient movement throughout the continuum, both inside and outside of the ACO's network. Additionally, MHN will gain greater visibility into their post-acute network (PAC), allowing them to better manage costs and improve care for the patients they serve in order to succeed under value-based programs.
"Our new partnership with PatientPing will instantly inform our network and providers across Iowa about transitions of care, improving their ability to support patients on the road to better health," said David Swieskowski, MD, president of the Mercy ACO. "The availability of ADT data from PAC facilities will also make it easier for our ACO to manage under shared-savings contracts, both with the Medicare Shared Savings Program and commercial insurers."
"We are excited to be expanding our national footprint into Iowa through this unique partnership with Mercy Health Network," said Jay Desai, CEO of PatientPing. "By providing Mercy Health Network with increased visibility within our broader Midwest community, we hope to contribute to their efforts of improving quality of care for the patients it serves throughout the state."
PatientPing's nationwide network includes tens of thousands of providers. PatientPing is rapidly accelerating its nationwide expansion so that any providers who share patients anywhere in the country can coordinate care with one another.
