Mercury News Columnist Patty Fisher to Join The Health Trust
CAMPBELL, Calif., March 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Award-winning Mercury News columnist Patty Fisher has been selected to become the Director of Policy and Communications for The Health Trust.

Fisher has 30 years of experience in news coverage of the Silicon Valley community. For the past six years she has authored a column in the Mercury News that offered reflections on important issues through the personal stories of local individuals. Previously, she served on the Editorial Board of the Mercury News giving her firsthand knowledge of all the critical policy challenges of Silicon Valley.
Her work has been recognized with numerous honors including the national Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism for distinguished coverage of disadvantaged children, youth and families. She holds a B.A. in Asian Studies from Wheaton College and a Masters of Arts in Journalism from University of Missouri-Columbia.
At The Health Trust, Fisher will be responsible for advancing the policy direction of The Health Trust's Healthy Aging, Healthy Living, and Healthy Communities Initiatives as well as overseeing communications.
