Washington Convention Center from Friday, February 1st to Sunday, February 10th. To highlight Mercedes-Benz safety and security developments, the "Eyes" of a Mercedes installation, featuring Mercedes-Benz intelligent drive sensors on the all-new 2014 E-Class, shows how the vehicle sees various triggers while operating to initiate semi-autonomous driving and braking. A set of video screens defining specific Mercedes-Benz safety technologies are also on display to educate show attendees on Mercedes-Benz innovations. These include Pre-Safe Brake, which uses a network of sensors to detect an imminent collision, Distronic Plus, a system of radar sensors that detect the flow of traffic during cruise control, among other systems. Kiosks with mbrace videos show the latest in connectivity and an S-Class sensor model display highlights the magnitude of locations sensors exist within the vehicle.
From a sustainable motoring perspective, Mercedes-Benz showcases various drivetrains within the alternative fuel category. The all-new 2014 E400 Hybrid features an advanced two-mode hybrid with full electric power that joins breakthrough technology in electric power with an advanced gasoline engine. As the creator of the world's first production hybrid with a Lithium-Ion battery, Mercedes-Benz is able to deliver performance, luxury and safety leadership with advanced environmental benefits. Both the new E400 Hybrid and the S400 Hybrid deliver seamless acceleration with superlative fuel economy and Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle certification.
The GLK250 BlueTEC is equipped with the world's cleanest and most advanced diesel. The debut of diesel powertrain in this model line, the first in its segment, the GLK250 BlueTEC features a 2.1 liter 4-cylinder diesel engine with 190 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. From the inventor of the first diesel engine 75 years ago, five Mercedes-Benz BlueTEC models are available today.
In addition, Mercedes-Benz is showcasing the B-Class fuel-cell car which features renewable, zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell power. This 5-door, 4-passenger hydrogen-electric car performs at 134 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque. The model is currently available for lease in California. Mercedes-Benz pioneered automotive hydrogen power, and continues to make strides in the drivability and accessibility of these models.
